UW-La Crosse - Spring 2026 - Go Wisconsin

Transfer Admission Requirements

Life happens and things change. We get that. Maybe you want to explore a new major not offered at your current campus. Or maybe you want to experience a bigger (or smaller) campus. Whatever the reason, a smooth transition is the goal. This section covers the admission requirements for transfer students. If you’ve enrolled at a college/university and now wish to attend a UW System campus, you’re in the right spot.

Transfer Admission Requirements Spring 2026

Transfer Admission Guidelines

All applications receive a comprehensive review. Academic preparation is the primary criterion used in the admissions review process. Students with at least a 2.25 cumulative grade point average in all previous college-level course work will be stronger candidates for admission. Students transferring from a UW System Campus with a cumulative G.P.A of 2.00 and 18 transferable credits are encouraged to apply. Students with a cumulative grade point average between 2.00 and 2.24 will be considered for admission if space is available.

Students transferring from a UW System campus who earn a minimum of 24 credits with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 will be admitted.

Other Guidelines for Admission Consideration

Timely submission of official copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions you have attended is appreciated to facilitate an immediate review of you application. This includes transcripts for courses you may have taken during high school for college credit.
